DeleteFor 4th question, which answer do you say is the right one?
ReplyDeleteSry sir,typing error
Delete4th question-3.The quality of the apples was good.
The answer is option C)3.
Yeah! That's why I was confused, ma'am! Good effort.
DeleteFor the 2nd question, the reason you have given is right. But logically,
ReplyDelete"He went to the X-ray room" is correct.
He went to take an X-ray is right.
Yes sir...u r correct...
DeleteSir plz clarify this doubt.
Add question Tag.
Somebody has called.
The answer is haven't they?.
How they use ' have' here......its in grammer book sir....
for somebody when we convert that somebody into pronoun we are urged to use "they".. with reference to number we cannot use has with the pronoun they... so the answer is haven't they? sis
ReplyDeleteK sis....that means in question also 'Somebody' should have the plural verb know...why they r using ' has' near somebody in question.
DeleteFor further referance....
DeleteBasic Principle: A pronoun usually refers to something earlier in the text (its antecedent) and must agree in number — singular/plural — with the thing to which it refers. The indefinite pronouns anyone, anybody, everyone, everybody, someone, somebody, no one, and nobody are always singular.
u r right sis but when the subject of the sentence is contain no real information which means if it is not mentioning a particular thing or a person it should be considered as a singular dummy subject sis
ReplyDeleteK sis...if we consider somebody is singular subject means why they r using the plural pronoun 'they' in answer.
Deletesomebody cannot be taken as feminine or masculine gender as it contain no real information and it is the word mentioning human being so we cannot use it so we have to use they
ReplyDeleteK sis....thanks....keep watching....
Deleteu r welcome sis
DeleteIf the subject is nobody, somebody, everybody, no one, someone or everyone, we use “they” in the tag question.
ReplyDeleteEx:Nobody asked for me, did they?
Nobody lives here,do they?
When the subject of the main part of the sentence is anyone, anybody, no one, nobody, none, neither, everyone, somebody, someone, everybody ,etc., we use the Personal Pronoun “they” as the subject of the ‘tag’ part.
e.g.
Neither of them explained, did they?
I don’t suppose anyone will help us, will they?
Everybody has left, haven’t they?
Nobody came, did they? (NOT …did nobody?)
Somebody wanted a drink, didn’t they?
Everybody laughed in the meeting ,didn’t they ?
NO one was interested in it, are they?
We often use the plural pronoun they to refer back to (singular) someone or somebody when we do not know if the person is male or female: Never judge someone by the way they look. (or Never judge someone by the way he or she looks.)
Somebody/someone is always singular form when we use subject+verb
In Tag questions, we refer back the singular with plural 'they'.
Nice explanations.

✨Next set of questions will be taken from 8th 1st term book on Tuesday....
Thank you moni sis..its very useful for me thank you so much sis..Good afternoon
DeleteGud noon sis....make it useful..... I am not blessed like this in the time of examination.....Sharp urself with this questions and discussions.....Hope u will be.....
DeleteYes sis..
DeleteMoni ma'am,
ReplyDelete7. I need you to sit down now!
The above sentence is a Declarative sentence.
'Need' is the verb.
'To sit' is an infinitive.
So, "I need you" is the main clause, which is in the form of S.V.O.
Thus, it is a statement.
K sir....I took this question in net,In that i saw this sentence is an example for imperative sentence....This is the link....Four Types of Sentences and the Effect of ...
Deletehttps://www.time4writing.com › types-of...they didn't give any explanation....
Can u explain what r all the condition to be an imperative sentence.....I also dont know it clearly sir.....Searched in net but coulud not get the clear explanation....
DeleteI can't understand the meaning of the 9th question, ma'am!
ReplyDelete9. Each of these boys _____ passed.
You have given the answer "was".
Ur correct sir....Either,neither,each,every,everyone and many must be followed by a verb in singular....By thinking this point i took this question sir....here 'passed' is past participle so the answer might be 'has'.......
DeleteEx:Each of the horses has won major international races.
Kindly make it sure sir.....I am saying with doubt only....
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteYeah! That's why I asked, ma'am!
ReplyDeleteIf you say, "Each of these boys was passed", then it becomes passive voice.(பாஸ் ஆக்கப்பட்டான்). But that's also correct in the sense that I mentioned.
But, I think you mentioned in the following sense.
பாஸ் ஆகிவிட்டான்.
So,
Each of these boys has passed
is the right answer.
I have one more doubt. Why did you use "was"? There is a possibility for "is" too, if you say in the sense பாஸ் ஆக்கப்படுகிறான்.
There is no indication for whether it happened, or it happens, or it will happen.
Final answer:
"Has" is the perfect word.
"Had" can also be used, as there is no clue word for the tense.
Done sir....nice explanation....
DeleteAn imperative sentence starts with the root form of a verb.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the root form of the verb may be preceded by a name. That name is just to call someone and it is not a noun.
Imperative starts with root forms of verbs like
Go
Come
Eat
Do
Open
Close
Find
Choose.
Imperative doesn't start with a subject.
Imperative can be an order, or a request or asking.
Imperative Sentences
ReplyDeleteWhat do all of the following sentences have in common?
Enjoy some fresh strawberries.
Give me a few weeks to make up my mind.
Feel free to text me later.
All of the examples are imperative sentences. Imperative sentences are requests, suggestions, advice, or commands.
Imperative sentences often appear to be missing subjects and use a verb to begin the sentence. In fact, the subject is the person listening, or the audience. In other words, if an imperative sentence is directed at you, then you are the subject of that sentence.
Give me a few weeks to make up my mind.
DeleteFeel free to text me later. These will come under request.
Enjoy some fresh strawberries. How it is called Imperative sir....
One more question,
I need you to sit down.....In this "Sit down" alone surly imperative know (in imperative speaker and the receiver is understood) ,in the same sense "I need u to sit down" also imperative....is not it sir? (I mean the speaker and the receiver is openly mentioned here....that only the difference then y we cant say this an imperative sentence....
The following sentences are still imperative sentences, but they are negative instead, indicating that something should not happen or is not desired.
ReplyDeleteDon't eat my strawberries.
Don't wait for my answer.
Don't text me.
A negative could be shortened into the simple one-word statement of Don't. Imagine for instance, this conversation:
Person A: I want to give you some strawberries.
Person B: Don't. I'm allergic to them.
Tag Questions
What does this pair of imperative sentences have in common?
Send me that email, will you?
Pass the potatoes, won't you?
Both use tag questions added to the end. These are still imperative sentences, but they end up with a little extra emphasis in the form of a question. You're most likely to hear these in conversations.
Sir one more doubt,
ReplyDeleteIs there any criteria in finding out the Imperative sentence by using sentence pattern?
Don't separate the word "to" from "sit down", ma'am!
ReplyDeleteTo sit down is infinitive.
So sit is not the verb.
So, it is not imperative.
As I already told, imperative sentences begin with verb.
ReplyDeleteThat is the key to find, ma'am!
Sometimes, imperatives start with names.
For example,
1. Monica, send me those questions.
2. Siva, don't play in the rain.
Apart from the names, imperatives begin with verbs. The verbs must be in root form, i.e., simple present tense.
Imperatives never start with a subject.
ReplyDeleteImperatives always tell you to do something.
ReplyDeleteஎதிரில் உள்ளவரை ஏதேனும் ஒன்றைச் செய்யச் சொல்வது தான் Imperative.
Enjoy means Enjoy பண்ணு.
நம்மைச் செய்யச் சொல்வதால் Imperative.
Sit down is imperative.
ReplyDeleteBut "To sit down" is not a sentence.
Imperative is a kind of sentence.
To sit down is infinitive. It's not a sentence. It is a phrase.
"I need you" is the main clause.
I need you can be a sentence.
I need you is a statement.
